The purposes of the KCA include:

• to help meet the needs and promote the affairs of Kipahulu;
• to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information;
• to promote self-sufficiency and conservation;
• to preserve the natural beauty and rural agricultural values of the community;
• to function as a liaison with government agencies;
• and to promote harmony through mediation or ho'oponopono.
